Paranormal Investigators, research and Ghost Hunters of New Mexico.

Welcome to the Duke City Paranormal Research Society.

We want to thank you for visiting our website and invite you to meet our team of Paranormal Investigators. We each have had our own experiences with the paranormal... experiences that have lead us here, to this group of individuals dedicated to helping you with any unexplained phenomena you are experiencing.

Sara Sather
Director/Lead Investigator

As a child I always wondered what those noises I heard in the middle of the night were. It was always explained to me as "just bumps in the night and not to be afraid". Being a person of Hispanic descent, I was aware of all the legends that were told but I had never put credence to them. It was when I was in Junior High that I had actually experienced one of those stories of legend. My family and neighbors witnessed a La Lechuza screeching outside of our home. Local news media had appeared and began to take photos. However, it was later reported that when the photos were analyzed nothing had appeared in them.

When researching a location for paranormal investigation, I look into a variety of details, including: the actual history behind the site, the people associated with that history and what event(s) may have occurred at the site.

Ed Sather
Lead Investigator & Tech Supervisor

The best I can recollect, I was around 30 years old when I become curious about the paranormal, but at the time, didn't really pursue it. It wasn't until 6 or 7 years ago that I actually had a couple of experiences that pushed me over the edge as a believer of paranormal phenomena.

Sara, my wife, Assistant Lead Investigator and Researcher for DCPRS and I were house-sitting at my stepdaughter's house in Seabrook, TX. The house had been damaged and flooded during hurricane Ike and we were there to help get it back in shape. I had heard about the stories of paranormal activity related to this house but, I was still a bit of a "whatever!" kind of guy.

One evening, for no reason, the house alarm armed itself 4 times... (mind you, the alarm service had already been cancelled). At first it went off 3 times about 15 minutes apart and after the 3rd time, I called out, "Knock it off"! I turned away, took only 3 steps and it armed again! We could not figure out why it had done this, but it didn't happen again the duration of our stay in the house.

About a month later, Sara had gone to bed while I stayed up to watch some TV. Finally, ready to go to bed myself, I turned off the TV and as I walked down the hallway to the bedroom, I start getting this uneasy feeling. By the time I reached the bedroom, I felt chilled and felt like something was watching me. I didn't see anything however, as I turned around, the chill became even worse and I felt every hair on my body stand on end.

These experiences gave me a new perspective on the paranormal and all the stories I had heard. My curiosity had peaked. Now seeking to better understand, I look to investigating as a means not only to educate myself but also those who are "whatevers!".

Connie and Greg Difranco
Administrative Lead Investigator; Investigator

Our names are Greg and Connie Difranco. We’ve been investigating the paranormal for the past 8 years. We like to take the scientific approach to the paranormal and we’re always looking for new and innovative ways to capture proof of the paranormal. We also enjoy finding the historical background of many of the places we investigate. The origins of why a location is having unusual activity. The documentation of such places is crucial in any investigation. In addition to our investigating with Duke City Paranormal Research Society, we have also had the privilege of giving paranormal presentations to the community and like-minded people.

April Lynn Tafoya
Investigator

I am a registered nurse who loves all things scary and spooky regarding paranormal phenomenon. And, being able to participate in a group that investigates this phenomenon just adds that much more excitement of wonderment to my world of science. My interest in the paranormal world started as a child. I have always been more sensitive to my environment by feeling and seeing things that made me question my reality at times. Then, in 2017, our own haunting experience occurred in our home. Stationary objects started moving, doors started opening by themselves, and cold spots started occurring. It came to a point where we needed help determining what was going on. We called Duke City Paranormal Research Society. Since, I have joined them on investigations to help others determine the cause of their own strange and bizarre activities.

Mark Tafoya
Investigator

I am a retired Correctional Officer from the State of New Mexico Penitentiary. I joined Duke City Paranormal Society with my wife a few years back. I have always heard ghost stories from others, but was still very skeptical about ghostly phenomenon until my own house started to have paranormal occurrences. Then, meeting Ed and Sara, we became quick friends, and my skepticism turned into reality, which then peaked my interest in finding other paranormal phenomena exciting to investigate. Investigating and researching phenomena has helped me stay busy during my retirement days.

Leon A. Wilkes
Religious Demonologist

For eighteen years Leon Wilkes has studied the paranormal and demonology. At an early age he found that his love for the paranormal would only heighten as he watched the show Unsolved Mysteries. This was the starting point for his career in the paranormal, preternatural studies and investigations.

When he turned the age of 21, he started researching and studying the paranormal field in which it culminated to him co-founding a paranormal team out of Georgia.

During this time he was able to work with many people throughout the paranormal field that shaped in him into the investigator that he is today. He directly acknowledges that the team and people that he worked with in his early years of paranormal research had a great impact on him and he thanks them every day.

Today Leon is the only one being tutored by Dave Considine, Religious Demonologist.

During his later years with the team that he co-founded he was getting a calling from God to do more in this field than just investigations. In fact, this calling was so strong that he could not ignore it, and finally started to study the field of demonology and founded a ministry that helps people who are under demonic attack called Where Angels Dare Ministries.

He studies this field from a religious perspective and deeply studies the Biblical truths that surround this field. He also studies the workings of the previous demonologists that had the greatest amount of impact on how we should help people from a scientific and religious standpoint.

He has worked with other well-known demonologists throughout the nation and has consulted on cases as far away as Scotland, while having time to be a research analyst on the movie set of The Legend of Seven Toe Maggie. He has appeared on internet shows such as Family Spirit, Demonology Today, The Grand Dark Conspiracy, Demonology Today, Voices Carry, Webb Paranormal Radio Network and Psychic Tena Marie Weber Show. He even speaks at Paranormal conventions.

With his dedication to the field of demonology and to God he vows to never stop at what he does and this is to help combat the forces of evil by Biblical truth and to empower people to use their God given authority over Satan and his forces.

Leon has served in the United States Air Force for the past fifteen years, attaining the rank of Technical Sergeant.

Leon states that, "seeing people get help at the end of the day is just what keeps me going."

His dedication to the spiritual warfare battle is intense, and he travels all over the Southeast to aid individuals.

Leon gives all the praise and glory to God almighty for aligning all the people in his life that has took the time to help him in his studies of demonology but, more importantly, he also thanks God every day for bringing into his life his wife and four adorable children. They are the people who continually ground him so that he will not get sucked into his studies of demonology too much to where it consumes him.

Lynn Cuperus
Investigator

I have been fascinated by the paranormal my whole life after first seeing a spirit at about 9 years of age. As an investigator, I enjoy the evidence gathering and analysis but mostly enjoy interactions when they happen. I plan my travels around visiting active locations and am often found with my voice recorder and EMF meter in hand - just in case. I am interested in knowing what is out there, and truly believe there is a very thin line between here and there - so always looking for the bridge. I also enjoy debunking, as a Qualtiy Engineer I am all about data and fact, as an empath, I also know feeling energy may be all I get, SO may the conversation begin.

Albert Chavez
Investigator

I have always been a skeptic - I want proof, data, show me the evidence. I am new to paranormal investigations, but enjoy the possibility of what we may find. As an industrial engineer, I look at the materials, the environment, the inputs to the area from light, to sound to air movement - is there a reason for what we caught? There is enough evidence out there that I am challenged to debunk but open to the possibilities.

Leslie Fluck
Sensitive, Investigator

I am a sensitive possessing several gifts that allow me to see and feel all kinds of energy and/or spirits. I have been a sensitive for my entire life and extremely experienced at clearings and cleansings of people and locations. In addition, I have the capability and knowledge to teach on how to protect oneself. I have always been interested in the paranormal as that is the world I live in as a sensitive.

Michael Brown

I am retired after over 30 years in counseling, pastoral care as a hospital chaplain, end-of life care for patients and families, and a bioethics consultant. Prior to this, I was a Roman Catholic seminarian and have a Master Degrees in Theology and Counseling. During these years of assisting people through their struggles, pain, grief and joyful life events, I have had many deeply moving and at times hard to explain experiences. It is both a privilege and a sacred responsibility to walk with people through the important moments of their lives.

For the past 20 years I have practiced and then taught Qigong and Tai Chi. I have learned that this practice has increased my understanding and sensitivity to the energies that are part of us and surround us.

I am married with three grown children and currently live in Northwestern New Mexico. My fascination for the paranormal is lifelong. I seek knowledge and understanding and believe that what we can touch, see, and measure are only a small portion of reality. I try to have an open mind when confronted with information or experiences that are outside of normal, “scientific” explanations. My first thought is: “That is interesting, I should investigate it more.” Being part of the Duke City Paranormal Research Society team is a great opportunity to work with a group of dedicated, sincere, professional and like-minded people whose primary concern is to help others and share their knowledge and gifts

Joann and David Moomey

We were both born and raised in Albuquerque, NM. We have been married for 12 years and we are total DisNerds (Disney). Joann is a Records Specialist at the Albuquerque Police Department and David is retired from IT at UNM. We have a 28-year-old son named Steven and a 6-year-old puppy named Kevin. Joann has always been interested in the Paranormal ever since she was a little girl. As a skeptic, I went along with her to see what it's all about and discovered that there is truth to the Paranormal. Together, along with our team, we would like to continue the research into the world of the paranormal.

Billie Babe and Joe Patron

Joe
I am a retired postman and served in the Navy as a submariner. My wife and I now live in Tijeras, New Mexico. Growing up in Las Vegas, New Mexico I heard the tales of La Llorona. I never saw her, but as a boy with my friends we heard her and were terrified. Other than that, I never thought about ghosts or paranormal happenings. When I got together with my wife things started happening. I was told “if you hang around me long enough you will see, hear, and feel things that you might not be able to explain”. After some time, the lights would go on and off, the fire alarms would go on randomly. I have since continued to see, hear and feel things I could not explain. ‘It’ does exist! The more I open up to the paranormal, the more I believe we are not alone.

Billie
I consider myself a healthy skeptic. Although I have experienced various unusual phenomena since childhood, not every bump in the night is a ghost, also not every anomaly caught on film is a dust particle or lens flare. I have had many personal experiences, too numerous to recount here. My family has a history of psychic sensitivity and precognitive gifts, so my early experiences were not met with critical denial of the paranormal. Experience was met in my family by perhaps some apprehension, but primarily by curiosity. Their attitude allowed me to remain open to the unique and unusual. Without the customary denial, I was able to develop and explore interests such as natural healing, herbology, the Tarot, and other metaphysical topics. My education and a 20-year career in the field of scientific research, seems in contrast to my experience. However, this training provided me with the logic and skills to use scientific scrutiny to look at the unknown from a balanced viewpoint. I seek to apply a quantitative methodology to paranormal experience. Assisting in legitimizing this field of research and developing a database of information associated with evidence gathered in investigation is a goal. Helping others who are frightened or confused by their encounters is another end game for me.

Brianna (Bre) Juarez

I am a single mother of 3 beautiful children. I am a College Instructor for Pima Medical Institute in the Veterinary Assistant Program, where I graduated from in 2010. Animals are my passion…From dogs and cats to birds and horses.

I was always very fearful of the paranormal as a young child. From seeing spirits, to be touched by them, I became more and more curious about them. Being a part of Duke City Paranormal Research Society has given me the opportunity to not only communicate with spirits more confidently but has allowed me to do so thru my dousing rods. Chasing the unknown is also a passion!

Keith and Amanda Henry

We are Keith and Amanda Henry. We have lived in New Mexico for most of our lives and currently reside in Moriarty. We have been married for 19 years and have 2 children. One who is extremely interested in the paranormal and cannot wait until she comes of age. Keith is a career firefighter in Los Alamos County and Amanda runs their full-time business, servicing fire departments in the southwest region. We are very involved in our kid’s youth groups, the New Mexico Shriners and Keith plays the bagpipes, when he gets some spare time. We have always been interested in the paranormal side of the world and have had a slowdown in life to be able to become more involved and learn, as we are newbies.

Gabrielle “Gabby” &: Jessica “Jessie

We are both in the Information Technology Field. Jessie is a Network Engineer and Gabby is a Cybersecurity Manager. We both have been interested in the paranormal, but never really had a chance to dive into it. Jessie is more into the scientific aspects of paranormal, and Gabby is more into the investigating the unknown. Gabby has always been interested in the paranormal since she was little. In March 2022 we purchased our home and started catching spirits on our security cameras. At first we tried to debunk as much as we could but couldn’t. Well, we contacted Duke City Paranormal and had an investigation of our home and it certainly got us more interested in investigating more. We are excited to put some of our background and skills into the research, investigations and be a part of the team.

Adrienne Pease

I have always found the paranormal intriguing. Is this real? What is around us that we cannot see? I want to know. I love doing haunted tours in various cities if there are some available. The tours give great insight to the history of the area that is considered haunted. It is hard not to be skeptical without proof or evidence. I recently did an event at the Harvey House with Duke City Paranormal Research Society and enjoyed it so much I wanted to be a part of it.
